Connected. At Your Edge.

It’s been said that a picture speaks a thousand words. Usually I write first and choose a picture after the written words. Today I sit in silence as I reflect on my interpretation of this amazing photo.

Authenticity comes to my mind here. Finding a space to sit and reflect when feeling anger or uncertainly. Being real with your own emotions and being ok admitting to feeling upset, unheard, scared or hurt. Basking in the sunlight of your own happiness as it shines through the trees.

During leadership workshops, we talk about taking time to sit on the rock. To observe yourself. To go back to what’s in the heart during tough conversations. To be real with yourself. To never stop learning and growing as an individual.

During yoga practice, we are taught to find inner calm. To focus and be mindful. In the moment. To move with our breathe. To flow with the practice.

The rocks here provide a calmness that moves beyond the woods and off the yoga mat. Into the world where we connect with others. Where we can build foundations that start relationships. Ones that matter.

The water represents a beautiful flow of energy associated with life. Staying open to new experiences, new people that may ebb and flow through our lives. For a day, a reason, a season and sometimes forever.

Here’s to finding your rock, new beginnings, getting to your edge and coming out strong on the other side.
