Grateful and Grounded

Recalibrate. A change in the way you do or think about something.

As we wind down our first quarter of 2025, I ask each of you one simple question:

What are you doing to recalibrate?

The month of January has provided me the space to ground into the community by participating in two unique local yoga journeys and challenges.

Cheers to 2025!

The series of workshops offer up ideas and best practices for individual and collective growth focused on learning, growing and how rituals can provide a grounding experience to our lives.

I wrapped up February collaborating with members of my soul tribe to lead from within, a violin and yoga session and participating in a mini weekend yoga retreat that focused on self love and self care. Right up my alley!

What do you need today to feel loved?

What steps can you take to honor what you need?

It takes work, dedication and focus to grow.

Self reflection, intention and aligned actions to move forward in life.

Here are three thought provoking questions to help you in your journey:

What is important enough to get your full attention?

What’s causing you to feel unsettled?

What inspired action can you take to reframe your situation or unconscious thoughts?

Somewhere In Between

Any transition starts with an ending, a change and a new beginning.

December is a time for us to reflect and reset .

For a moment, let’s reflect on the moon and the space in between the darkness and the light.

The various versions of the moon that I have experienced recently during my last few healing yoga retreats have helped provide me with the deep reflections and the courage to release what no longer serves me.

What words come to your mind when you see the moon?

Freedom, growth, peace, love, healing, courage and clarity are the words that continue to manifest within my thoughts, meditations and yoga practice as I enjoy holiday celebrations and reset for 2025.

Just breathe!

As 2024 came to an end, I participated in a new moon circle at Lotus Yoga.

This new moon circle became even more impactful to me when I learned it was associated with a rare dark moon.

There’s beauty in the darkness. It anchors us to our purpose.

Self compassion, reflection, intention and aligned actions were the words that i am taking into 2025.

Take a deep breath. Hold it for three seconds. Let it go for four seconds.

With every inhale and exhale, there is a pause.

A space in between like the space between the darkness and the light.

As you reflect on the year and prepare to reset for 2025, give yourself space to trust the process of change without rushing it.

Another moon will still rise and shine soon enough!

Below find three questions that may prompt your own thoughts and reflections:

What do you want to take with you into the new year?

What do you want to expend into 2025?

What do you want to let go of?

As we awaken to the first day of 2025, I offer three of my own:

Stay vigilant and aware. Sometimes the most mundane problem can have important significance.

Stay true to yourself. We all have a choice as to what we put our energy and focus on.

Know your why. The freedom that comes with this awareness will bring an incredible sense of calmness and clarity.

Here’s to embracing the in between in 2025 and beyond.

Trust Your Path

What triggers you?

If you knew you would be fully supported, what would you do?

How balanced is your life?

What lights you up?

Meet me in Manhattan!

I’ve been reflecting on these statement as we move into the last few days of 2024.

Growth and change is hard. It takes work and an honest look inside yourself to shift your own thoughts and behaviors.

On my computer at work, I have a sticky note that says that I am responsible for how I act no matter how I feel.

This statement gives me pause to consider triggers and the emotions behind them.

I’m currently studying more about leadership shadows and the fears associated with them.

The fear of failure, betrayal and rejection and how we recognize them to integrate into our own lives.

When you follow what lights you up, you light up the world.

Retreat to Somewhere

Spiritual growth is a journey of the soul.

It transforms us from within to heal, transform, inspire and love.

Mindfulness is a sanctuary of peace and clarity.

It helps us use our breath to stay in the moment.

Love is love.

The heart remains the heart.

These were random notes I took during my last few yoga retreats this summer.

As I sit here on the mountain top of Guatamala, I can’t help but reflect on my journey with a grateful heart.

Room with a view on Tuesday morning

Retreats have become a passion for me.

They provide me the opportunity to have a variety of experiences (one of my current vital needs), see new places, travel the world, connect with people and do more yoga!

It’s about the people, the connections and conversations we have that help us all grow, change and evolve.

I know for a fact, that my yoga journey has made an impact on my life these past 12 years.

Grounded, spiritual and grateful

My yoga journey has provided me with the foundation to my own self care and self worth.

It’s given me an outlet to look within, to be ok taking time for myself, to write, reflect and share my knowledge and experiences.

It gives me space and permission to do the work!

Over the years, I’ve had several people ask me a simple yet profound question. “What does doing the work mean?”

For me, it’s about learning, evolving, changing and growing.

One moment in time.

One random conversation that shifts your perspective.

One act of kindness and compassion.

Self reflection, self care, self love.

I’m compelled to continue to write to offer inspiration and encouragement to myself and others.

I leave you with an exercise from the soul.

What pivotal moments have impacted your life the way yoga has impacted mine?

What steps are you taking to make a small shift in your own thoughts and behaviors?

Are you clear on your vital needs?

What triggers you? What excites you?

I challenge you to retreat to somewhere.

Cultivating Peace and Compassion

There is no mistake that I am here at a time of great change.

As a change agent this statement resonated with me. I’m driven by affecting change to make a difference at work and in my personal world.

The mountains don’t apologize for taking up space, so why should we?

I like change although sometimes it can be scary. It forces myself and others to step out of our comfort zone to do something different. To sell a new product. To put a new program in place.

It also helps us to change the way we communicate to ultimately help strengthen the relationships we have with each other.

So how do we cultivate peace in an ever changing fast moving society?

It’s starts with each one of us!

Relax at a beach

What does it take to cultivate peace in your life?

For me, it goes back to my quiet time and focus time.

The time I sit, write and reflect. The time I allocate to myself to get one thing done at a time instead of too much multi tasking. The times that I work hard on a project and see it come to life. The times that I try hard and even sometimes fail at it.

The time I wake up, drink the coffee and get ready for my day.

What about self compassion? We all deserve kindness and compassion. To give it to ourselves as much as we give it to others.

How does practicing self compassion change your response in challenging situations?

How can you look at the other person or situation differently with compassion, grace and kindness?

Self awareness (what I see) and the management of self (what I do) are two of the four topics associated with emotional intelligence growth which in turn impacts change within.

How are you becoming more self aware?

Everything is coming and going. Change is happening.

How are you managing change and cultivating peace in your life today?

Recalibrate, Appreciate and Celebrate

Are you taking time this summer to appreciate and acknowledge all that you have created, achieved, released and experienced before rushing into the next thing?

Recently I celebrated a fabulous year end at work, a full moon, the summer solstice during another glamping weekend, summer concerts across the US and beach getaway with friends and family.

During these experiences, I continued to find space to be quiet, grateful and at peace. I am healing.

The moon reminds us of abundance. It sets us up to release what no longer serves us. It is bringing work life balance front and center to all of us.

Are you living and working your purpose?

Is your work aligned with your values?

I create from the heart. I work with good intention each and every day.

As I continued the momentum of slowing down, the words taking a break, focus on the light and abundance continued to surface during my quiet time of writing, yoga and reflections.

The mountains don’t apologize for taking up space so why should we?

What does taking a break and slowing down look like for you?

How does this fit into your goals and dreams for the next half of this year?

What have you created and achieved this past year?

What are you celebrating?

What are you letting go of to make more space for something new and exciting?

What brings you joy and happiness?

What doesn’t?

Glamping hike

How are you shining the light on parts of you that are changing and emerging?

We closed out our year in June. At our last monthly sales meeting, we celebrated. As a collective, we have reached milestones of success in sales with consistent growth and ongoing change.

As I move into preparing for a new year at work, a wellness day off to attend a local yoga festival and an international yoga retreat vacation, I continue the momentum of working my purpose. To help myself and others see our full potential.

Nature grounds us

I am the catalyst for change!

I want to encourage you to focus on the light. The positive things in your life. The potential for new things in the next 6 months.

Don’t let anyone dim your light or take your joy away!

Return to the Grateful Heart

For those of you who know me, follow me and read my blogs, you have likely come to realize that my words are a reflection of what I’m feeling, experiencing and living.

I find peace and serenity at the beach

I write to inspire and motivate others and I write to inspire myself.

As a life long learner, I’m committed to educating myself, growing and changing to live my best life in this moment in time.

I write to encourage others to see and realize their own full potential. I write to reflect on my own self discovery and evolution.

What passions are you focusing on this summer?

I write to bring life to my reflections and thoughts hoping that you take something away from my stories that help you shift and thrive with your own challenges and life.

I write to return to my grateful heart.

I am strong. I am beautiful. I am magnificent!

It feels like time continues to move at a faster and faster pace.

As I reflect on the past year of success, joy, challenges and distress, I move forward knowing that I have the skills, tools, focus and passion to be happy and at peace.

A concert and yoga at the Red Rocks

What skills and tools are you using and developing to have clarity on your own vital needs?

What fuels your soul?

What soothes your spirit?

What drives you to the space in your heart that you call home?

Moments in Muskegon

My yoga journey and leadership evolution has become the foundation for my ongoing growth in life.

I continue to encourage myself and others during coaching moments to take a breath.

To bring thoughts into the now.

To focus on the emotional intelligence of self awareness.

To reflect and be clear on your why.

To take the time to stand still. Be quiet.

To jump out of your comfort zone just for a moment.

To simply return to the grateful heart.

Replacing Fear with Opportunity.

If you felt 100% safe in this world today, what would you let go of?

The words letting go keep coming up in presentations and conversations throughout this year for me.

I recently attended two women’s leadership conferences, a glamping weekend retreat and taken the time to write and reflect on many recent conversations and experiences..

Glamping experience at Serenity Farms Durham, NC

The conversations surrounding leadership, confidence, courage, adaptive challenges and life work integration were topics that came up throughout these experiences.

I continue to integrate these words and topics into my life especially this year as I work to grow and evolve to be my best self. To live my best life. To be truly happy and grateful every single day.

To lead with grace, listen to understand, be a good example to others and stand tall in my convictions knowing when to take the lead or when to take the high road for optimum synergy, community and success.

When we take the time to focus on what’s really important, I find that things start to fall in line. There are so many signs if we just stop, pause and take a breath!

The beauty of nature is all around us.

As a reflect on my notes from the past quarter sales meetings, leadership conferences and mini yoga retreats, I’m focused on my own goals of staying confident, being bold and courageous.

Confidence starts with owning who I am. With accepting my differences, leaning into them and being my authentic self. And that means being vulnerable which is scary.

It starts with how I think and recognize how I respond especially when I’m triggered by something.

As I pay attention to what triggers me to respond in certain ways, I’m able to identify what scares me and why it scares me. It also forces me to look within and figure out the why piece of fear, our leadership shadows.

Takes my breath away. Stunning shot.

What have you done to be bold and courageous?

What new experiences have you created for yourself?

What is your focus and the actions you are taking this spring and summer to be your best self?

How can you be more present in the moment?

What are you working to change or achieve this year?

What do you fear?

What can you let go of to make space for a new opportunity? One you don’t fear?

No matter your despair, remember that you are still and will always be magnificent!

Happy Mothers Day 2024

Trust Your Flow

As we settle into 2024, we have the opportunity to move heaviness away and continue to enjoy our lives in this exact moment every single day.

Let’s reflect on 8 spaces that we can create meaningful intention to find our flow in life.

The spiritual, mental, work, love, wealth, social, physical and inspiration can be the 8 areas that we put intention behind to help improve our lives, focus on our vital needs while we learn to trust our own flow.

Soothing flow of the river at Moon Rising Retreat Center

The number 8 (add the numbers in 2024 to get 8) is associated with the infinity symbol signifying a year of growth and expansion.

I’m a life long learner in my professional world and personal space! We have to know to grow. Never stop learning!

Growth takes effort. Growth isn’t always easy.

Growth takes a lot of self reflection and self awareness to make changes within our own reactions.

What’s been heavy on your mind, body or soul this past year?

It’s time to shed that heaviness as we work on developing our own inner strength, self discipline and compassion.

What words come to mind for you to help you grow? This quarter I’m focused on courage, boldness and confidence.

Celebrating a new trip around the moon and the sun at Moon Rising Retreat Center

Let’s talk about feelings. First of all, they are temporary. This gives me hope!

Sometimes I just don’t like some of the feelings that I am feeling. They are temporary.

Feelings are data. They are not good or bad. They are just easy or hard.

This gets me thinking about how I can relate to these feelings especially when they are foreign or uncomfortable to me.

This is exactly where mindfulness comes in.

Being able to be in the now, sit in the feeling for a moment, offer self compassion, observation and maybe even a little humor!

Trust your flow.

Breathe in Peace

Full moons, winter solstice, holiday season and now a new year is upon us!

The full moon is a time to pause and reflect on our blessings.

A time to detach from negative emotions and to feel grateful for how meaningful our life is.

The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year because it has the least amount of sunlight in it. Each day after becomes longer and lighter.

The mountain doesn’t apologize for taking space, so why should we?

This reminds me to take the good with the bad, to be humble when I’m up and stay determined when I’m down.

For me, the holiday season is a time to celebrate, reflect, and rejoice.

I am blessed. I am grateful.

Breathe in peace.

Celebrate the sun and the moon and our masculine and feminine side!

I participated in a gratitude yoga practice on Thanksgiving Day.

It was an amazing session that reminded me of how much I have to be grateful for.

You can’t rush your healing. Darkness has its teachings. This powerful message is from songwriter Trevor Hall.

These words rocked my soul throughout the holiday weekend. So did the Disco Inferno 70’s celebration!

I wrapped up 2023 spending New Years Weekend with my favorite person in the whole wide world and checking off something I’ve had on my list for years, attending an epic football game with him at the Dallas Cowboy stadium.

Life is so precious.

Take the good with the bad. Celebrate moments of laughter and fun.

Dance to the disco beat. Cry during Savasana.

Shop with a purpose. Give to others.

Share your story. Acknowledge your tribe.

Step up and lead with purpose.

Here’s to fabulous start to 2024.
